Background-
After coming out of high school with a number of offers from American colleges
to play NCAA football, Hill turned them down to be with his High school
sweetheart, Amanda Jensen. He started at defensive end for the SFU Clansmen for
2 years before being picked up by the B.C. Lions of the CFL. Hill would go on to
retire after 2 seasons because of many nagging knee and shoulder problems.
After finally marrying his girlfriend of 6 years and being a bouncer at a small
club in Vancouver, Hill thought his life was going nowhere. All the fun of
football was behind him and no longer a reality. He missed the cheer of a crowd
as he brought a Q.B. down. That would all change in August of 2001.
His friend from High school, Steve Santos called him and told him of this
upstart wrestling league that was looking for new talent. Never really being a
fan of wrestling Hill's first thought was to dismiss the idea and continue on
with his life. But after talking to his father who said this may just be what
you were looking for he figured what harm could there be in trying it out.
Hill showed up to the audition where her out powered, out moved and out lasted
all the other competitors. He was hired with out a second thought.
The league he joined was called the IWA. Owned but a millionaire named Austin
Hart who had no feelings for his talent unless they were making him money. Hill
was almost a automatic superstar. His good looks a charisma made him a magnet
for feuds with the less attractive talent who were jealous of him. This, in
turn, gave him quite the complex.
Hill would go on to win the IWA Intercontinental Title from Rain Storm and hold
it for a record 9 months. Finally Austin Hart had enough. Hill was starting to
be a rule breaker and was leading a charge that would thrown Hart out of power
and replace him with someone else. Austin took what people he could and at the
second to last PPV cost Hill his title by having 6 of his "Superstars"
(including Hill's Tag Team Partner, Jamison Mak) beat him beyond belief and then
threw him into the ring where he was pinned by Mak and lost his Intercontinental
title. Hill then that night packed his bag and never returned to the IWA.
A few months later he received a phone call from one Speed Racer of the AGW.
Hill was both surprised and shocked that a man of his stature would actually
call Hill and offer him a contract. Hill accepted and Brian Hill made his first
in ring appearance later that month.
I think that'll be good for now. If you want more just let me know!
