History:
Scion is the only wrestler to have
been taken "under the wing" of Speed Racer so to speak. He was a huge fan
of the AGW who lived in Cleveland and actually was a huge Mark Paris/LoS
fan being from the same hometown as Paris. After graduating college with
a degree in computer science, instead of getting a job that could pay him
100 grand a year or more, he got a part-time computer job in New York City
to help pay for his room and board as he trained with Speed.....his dream
always was to become a wrestler.
Speed saw potential in the athletic young man, a baseball and soccer standout in high school and college, and sure enough it only took a matter of months under the tutelage of Speed and a few more months in the AGW "Power Plant" training under some of the top AGW stars like Tom Tennant and Mark Payne and then he was ready for the big time. He was brought in by former Legion/Corporation manager James Vandenberg as the young talent that would be the next big superstar in the wrestling world. After a brief feud with Malik Shabazz, the AGW closed and Scion was left jobless. He held some contempt with Speed for shutting the fed down and Scion moved on to the Universal Wrestling Federation. However, they had no room for Scion in the Mainland UWL so Scion was shipped off to their farm league in Japan. This pissed Scion off even more as he wasn't content just bumping around from fed to fed. He basically didn't even try to succeed in the UWL Japan and counted the days until they cut his contract completely.
Luckily, things finally started to look up for Scion as he got a call from his acquaintances, the Thespian Express, as soon as he returned from Japan. They let him know that a fed named Full Contact Wrestling was opening and they thought he would really fit nicely into the fed. And they couldn't be more right. While he is still a rookie and has struggled against some of the more experienced FCW competitors, Scion still shows as bright a future as one could have. He even held the FCW World Title after upsetting Most Holy, but unfortunately Scion wasn't quite ready for a step quite that big. He lost the belt after only a couple of weeks, but the fact is that he held it and defeated one of the all time best in the biz to do it. He then won it once again in November of 2001 by defeating the very tough Darian Blaze. After losing the title after an impressive reign, Scion lost favor within the FCW. Seeing his days numbered, Scion did the same as Rhapsody and "waited out" his contract fulfilling whatever duties he was called upon to do.
Then, he made an unauthorized appearance on AGW TV. Unauthorized by the FCW AND the AGW. However, at this event, Scion and Speed made amends after 2 years of hatred. It was an unexpected occurrence but Scion won himself a contract with the AGW and hoped to regain the success he had in his early FCW days. In fact, his initial appearance was met with so much fanfare that Scion was thrust into the AGW World Title picture from the get go. At the behest of the front office and some of the other AGW wrestlers, Scion was given a shot. Despite all of his issues in and out of the ring, Scion was always a calming influence to many of the younger and older wrestlers alike, and many of these very wrestlers pushed hard for Scion to be a part of the AGW's first ever "Ladder To Success" match for the AGW World Title at the AGW's In Your Face PPV that took place in November of 2002. Scion's run in that match came at an end thanks to Brad Steel, but the match as a whole went over very well with fans, and thus one of Scion's most notable AGW matches.
Unfortunately, after the PPV, and throughout the end of the year, egos clashed backstage in the AGW. Scion wasn't really part of the shenanigans, but he was partially blamed for the departure of Brad Steel and Sambo, who became FCW-only wrestlers. Scion really WASN'T but certain troublemakers on the roster decided to damn Scion for that, and unfortunately, Scion just didn't want to deal with it. He wanted to get a new start within the AGW, but even his boss and teacher was starting to turn his back on him again. However, not wanting to cause any more backstage issues following Steel and Sambo's departure, Scion left the AGW via mutual friendly agreement as 2003 was beginning.
Knowing he needed to change SOMETHING to get his career back on track, Scion decided to train even harder, giving up the booze and the night-life associated with the business. He found himself a steady girlfriend who also happened to be a legitimate personal trainer, and she helped Scion get into the best conditioning of his life...even despite the knowledge that he didn't actually have a league he was under contract with. Luckily for Scion, his perseverance paid off and he got a call one day in early 2003 from FCW Owner James Crawford. While Scion didn't leave the FCW under good conditions, Crawford was willing to let bygones be bygones, as long as Scion promised to behave. Luckily for Scion, he had grown as a wrestler AND as a person since he had left FCW and so he promptly agreed. Scion reunited with his old friends, The Thespian Express, and the 3 were very active in the FCW until it was forced to close in the summer of 2003.
