| Biography: |
Moonspell's history is very well published
and known just due to her high profile brother, Speed Racer. She is Speed's
little sister who skipped out of college after one year in order to do
what her bro was doing, and that's wrestle. She sought the assistance of
the very man who trained Speed, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, and he reluctantly
trained her thinking she had Speed and her parent's consent. She didn't. And when she made a surprise appearance in 1997 as the young
semi-masked SuperNova
in the Global Wrestling Federation, she did her best to hide her true identity
and successfully did so for the who. It wasn't until she got a contract with the WHCW
in 1998, Speed's main fed at the time, when she broke the news to him that
she was indeed his sister. Obviously, this didn't sit well with him but
she already had the necessary training and a binding contract, so there
really wasn't too much he could do about it.
Thus she embarked on her wrestling
career....she started very slowly in the WHCW and in fact only made a handful
of appearances during the course of her contract as they still wanted her
to be more polished and less......reckless in the ring. She had a tendency to be
a botch machine, and often got herself or her peers hurt. With practice, she
worked on it, but then the WHCW went under. She moved on from
there with Speed to the TMW where she brought in one of her good friends, Amethyst Morris. The two fared rather
well there both in singles and in tag team action and this is the point when Rachel decided to change her name from SuperNova
to Moonspell....to help portray a darker, more serious style of personality
and wrestling. The two hit it off very well as a team and even won the
TMW Women's Tag Titles for a brief period. Moonspell's most noted enemy
at the time was Vendetta, whom she clashed with, joined up with and clashed
with again in the WHCW. She was the one who convinced Moonspell to get
a darker image, change her name to Moonspell and Vendetta made no effort to hide that fact from the world.
Ultimately, Moonspell broke free of Vendetta's clutches and looked for some
retribution. Unfortunately,
their feud was just about to reach a high point when the TMW closed. Moonspell
has not seen Vendetta since. Probably a good thing....Moonspell would put some
hurting on that woman. After the TMW closing, there were really few feds out there that had a women's division at all. However, she did know that her bro was starting up a Women's division in his own league, the AGW, and asked if she and Amethyst could be a part of the fed. Speed feared that some of the wrestlers would cry out for nepotism in giving her a job at all. But by this point he knew she was good enough to prove her abilities on her own. He signed Moonspell and Amethyst to the AGW where both flourished as they further developed their characters and gained new friends and feuds. Moonspell even reached the pinnacle of her early career, a feud with Lollipop/Emeraldas, one of the best women's wrestlers in the business and Moon got an AGW Women's Title reign to boot. Unfortunately, over the next year the AGW closed, opened and closed again so she couldn't really gain the chance to build off of the momentum of her big win.
In 2002, the AGW returned. Between 2000 and 2002, Moonspell was forced to work a number of odd jobs, including a stuntwoman for a couple really bad b-movie action flicks and a waitress. During this time, she decided to enroll in college, but quickly dropped that in 2002 when the AGW reopened. Shortly after the AGW returned, Moonspell regained the AGW Women's Title for a second time, defeating Anna Von Doom. Unfortunately, after only a week long reign, Moonspell lost the title to Eve in a tough match. Afterwards, Moonspell fell into a bit of a slump, not taking her career seriously. Then she met a young prospect by the name of Morrigan Anastasia. They became close friends immediately, and Moonspell helped Morrigan hone her abilities further at Speed Racer's Wrestling School during the fall and winter months. Finally, in January, Moonspell convinced Violet and Speed to let Morrigan be televised. The owners agreed and Moonspell and Morrigan attacked every female competitor they could find in a string of uncharacteristically brutal attacks. Moonspell had always been the nice loner girl, but she wanted to shed that image by just being outright evil. What the duo of Pandemonium did was certainly not what the owners had in mind, but it made for good TV. For most of 2003 and into 2004, Morrigan and Moonspell, collectively known as "Pandemonium" were the resident bad girls of the AGW, doing what they wanted, when they wanted.
Next, is Moonspell's side of the story. She got abducted by her brother and his co-conspirators because Moonspell had also decided to start dating "The Survivor" Tom Tennant, raising the ire of her brother, big time. Speed got the help of Tom's younger brother Clint, and did whatever they could to sever the relationship between Moonspell and Speed. This also led to an accident where Speed attacked his own sister and hit his Flatliner finisher from the top of a ladder through a table in probably his most vicious attack ever. Unfortunately, what neither knew was that Moonspell was pregnant at the time with Tom Tennant's baby. You can imagine what happened afterwards....a blood-feud if there ever was one. Through it all, Moonspell was saved by the efforts of Violet Morris and Morrigan Anastasia, and shortly after, Moonspell married her love, Tom Tennant.
Unfortunately, Moonspell felt Tom was holding her wrestling career back. She felt he was being overprotective because of the attacks of 2003 and 2004 on her, and she decided to oblige her husband's wishes and go to a part-time schedule. In 2005, Moonspell was looking to return to full-time action and Tom thought it was a bad idea. He wanted to have a child with Moonspell, something she insisted she wasn't ready for. Unfortunately, this disagreement led to the two being separated in spring of 2005. Moonspell started competing full-time, mended fences with her brother and started seeing other men, including MMA fighter Drake Campbell.
In 2006, not much had changed. Moonspell still was separated from Tom despite his desperate attempts at reconciliation. She still felt enough about him to not ask for a divorce however, though whether it was just to play games with his heart is a matter of debate. The AGW came back, and Moonspell looked to continue allying with her best friend Morrigan against all the other women in the AGW. And sure enough, Pandemonium once again became the most vicious and feared team among the women's division. They spent much of 2006 embroiled in a brutal feud with 3 of the Morris Sisters (Amethyst, Violet and Rose). With the numbers not in their favor, they looked long and hard for an ally. In fact, they teased for weeks that it would be the White Rose, however in actuality they added the most decorated women's wrestler in AGW history, Lollipop (under her evil Emeraldas guise). This 3 on 3 feud became the talk of the women's division and featured some absolutely brutal matches culminating in a victory at the 2006 AGW Vs. The World PPV in a Barbed Wire Fluorescent Lightbulb Match. |
