Kid Nitro
Handler: Clayton Leach
Height/Weight: 6'1" 230 lbs.
Finisher: Nitro Bomb (top rope DDT)
Inducted: May 1999
Brief History:
Kid Nitro is THE most popular wrestler
in AGW history, bar none. Always staying a "Face", Kid Nitro certainly
started his career from the bottom and worked his way up despite the fact
that he probably could have convinced good friend, Speed Racer, whom he
met in the WWPA, to have given Nitro an easy ride. Kid Nitro never wanted
anything handed to him, and this fighting spirit in the ring was enough
to gain the love of the fans and the respect of his peers. Teaming up with
the always enjoyable Blood Pirates, Kid Nitro and crew were always favorites
of the kids, which Nitro was very proud of. He also was proud of his AGW
accomplishments, of which there were many. Often times, any time there
was a bad guy at the top of the AGW mountain, Kid Nitro would always be
right there to fend them off as best he could. In fact, many compare his
accomplishments to that of Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat: they were good
guys throughout their careers, they were deserving of more titles than
they received, and every match they put on were instant classics. Kid Nitro's
legendary EEMWF Bridge Match against Holocaust, Cardiac and Speed Racer
carried over to the AGW in a big way, since Nitro was AGW Champ at the
time forcing the feared dead wrestler to vacate the title. This led to
a tournament being run for the World Title that was won by young Saiyan,
Son Goten. Many thought Nitro died that night, however he was just severely
injured and eventually came back out of rehab stronger and quicker than
ever. This was just one of many obstacles that were set in front of Kid
Nitro and yet his courage and heart allowed him to go through any obstacles
put in his path.
Titles Held:
Kid Nitro is a 3 time AGW World
Champion, 2 time IC Champ, 1 time TV Champ, 2 time Cruiserweight Champ,
and a 3 time 3 Man Tag Champ (1 with Atlas and Kid Dragon, 1 with Speed
Racer and Craig "The Chef" Pearce and 1 with Holocaust and Cardiac)
Mark Paris
Handler: David Nichols
Height/Weight: 6'1" 237 lbs.
Finisher: Extreme Measure (dragon sleeper)
Inducted: May 1999
Brief History:
Mark Paris is without a doubt one
of the most hated men in the AGW's illustrious history and yet one of the
most important. Starting out as a young rookie, Paris just wasn't making
it in the EEMWF. "The Predator" was struggling and AGW Owner, Speed Racer,
who was one of the top dogs in the EEMWF noticed that this kid had a ton
of untapped talent. Speed promptly offered Paris an exclusive AGW contract
which he took up, leaving his EEMWF past behind, and that is how it all
began. Mark Paris and his tag team partner, Fenris, first made their marks
in the AGW in the tag scene. While they didn't win tag gold, this allowed
them to gain valuable experience before both men moved on to the singles
scene. Fenris actually gained more success early on than Paris did, winning
the IC Title while Paris was wallowing in the Anything Goes Title scene.
In fact, Paris wrestled some of the greatest hardcore matches in AGW history
against Methos and the Black Knight. However, in mid 1998, after one Anything
Goes Title reign, something clicked for Paris. He finally felt comfortable
enough to move on to the next level, and while Speed was unsure initially
about letting Paris do so, watching tapes of some of his 1998 matches and
interviews were more than enough to convince the owner that Paris was good
enough.....and good "enough" is clearly an understatement. Mark Paris'
numbers might not seem like much, 4 World Title reigns, 1 IC Title and
1 AG Title reign......however the quality of his title reigns as well as
his feuds were what made this man. Once Mark Paris became the most skilled
mic worker at getting a crowd to despise him, his career was made. He,
in fact, has the longest AGW World Title reign in history at 102 days and
has never held it for less than 30. Despite numerous substance abuse problems
that have caused him to miss in-ring time for months at a time, Mark Paris
is one of the most hated, most charismatic, most feared and most respected
wrestlers in AGW history.
Titles Held:
Paris had held the AGW World Title
4 times, the AGW IC Title once and the Anything Goes Title once.
Most Holy
Handler: Martin Thomas
Height/Weight: 6'4" 225 lbs.
Finisher: Holy Roller
Inducted: May 1999
Brief History:
Most Holy's origins were very similar
with that of Mark Paris, and that is likely why the two have had quite
a connection with each other throughout their careers. Most Holy is easily
the best Cruiserweight champ the AGW has ever had, and it has had some
great ones. However early in his career, he was a struggling EEMWF wrestler who was having
a modicum of success before asked to join the AGW by Speed Racer. Most
Holy and Mark Paris were allied in the EEMWF at the time and both thought
that a jump could only mean better things for their careers....and oh,
were they correct. Most Holy actually continued to have trouble succeeding
after joining the AGW and numerous reporters actually felt that he was
an overrated bust. However, this would deter neither the Mostest nor his
supporters in the front office who knew he could be a big star one day.
Knowing that the front office was confident in his abilities, this allowed
Most Holy to gain personal confidence, and after his brother, Isaac Bacitt
joined the AGW, that seemed to give Holy an added edge. He participated
largely in the Cruiserweight division although his Heavyweight division
resume is pretty impressive, including a reign as AGW World Champion. Throughout
the years, Most Holy has put on quality matches, and his ideas for angles
border on the insane to the brilliant.....most of the time they're both.
There are still those detractors to this day who doubt Most Holy's ability
in anything but the Cruiserweight division (As he has a record 12 Cruiserweight
Title reigns with former AGW wrestler Hybrid coming in second at only 6
reigns), however it is obvious that those people just can't take that someone
actually CAN live up to their potential....and the very popular and fan-friendly
Most Holy still has a lot of career to go in the AGW.
Titles Held:
Most Holy is a 1 time AGW World
Champion and a 12 time Cruiserweight Champ
Gryphon
Handler: Brad Colpitts
Height/Weight: 6'10" 360 lbs.
Finisher: Cliff Hanger (jack-knife powerbomb)
Inducted: May 1999
Brief History:
Gryphon could very well be considered
one of the AGW's very first "home grown" stars. During early 1997, many
of the top AGW wrestlers established themselves in the first month of the
league. Gryphon was one of the very first talent signings after the initial
2 months or so of the league's existence....and he literally worked his
way up the rankings at a rapid pace and earned the respect of many of his
peers. If the AGW would have held a Rookie Of The Year award for 1997,
Gryphon may very well have won it. Part of this reason, along with him
storming up the rankings, is because he was quite instrumental in the very
first AGW mega-angle.....one that involved no less than 2 dozen wrestlers.
A mega-heel group called the New Dangerous Alliance (secretly headed by
AGW Owner, Speed Racer) started wreaking havoc on the AGW.....and Gryphon
and Smooth Operator were the very first to organize a counter-effort.....a
very successful one for that matter. The NDA didn't last more than a couple
of months before being forced out of the AGW by the combined efforts of
the AGW forces. Gryphon also organized a similar effort when Speed Racer
created an evil Corporation stable that was the mirror image of the NDA.....and
the results were the same, as the bad guys were foiled again. Shortly after
that, Gryphon left the league on very good terms with Speed Racer and the
front office and on very bad terms with a few of the wrestlers. Many wrestlers
seemingly refused to work with Gryphon, so he decided to move on, having
completed a very impressive AGW career including a World Title reign. Gryphon
will always be considered one of the most powerful wrestlers in the AGW's
history, with natural leadership skills as evidenced by his efforts in
countering Speed Racer's best-laid evil plans. And he definitely deserves
a Hall Of Fame nod.
Titles Held:
Gryphon is a 1 time AGW World Champion,
2 time Intercontinental Champion, 1 time TV Champion, 1 time U.S. Tag Champion
(w/ Smooth Operator) and a 1 time 3 Man Tag Champion (w/ Anaconda and Russian
Bear),
Terrance M. Garvin
Handler: Terry Witzel
Height/Weight: 6'3" 235 lbs.
Finisher: Lithium (single arm DDT)
Inducted: May 1999
Brief History:
Flamboyance personified, that explains
what Terrance M. Garvin is all about. Well known for his controversial
feuds and unique personality, Garvin is definitely a man who brought a
whole new element to the AGW. Almost always a heel, Garvin has teamed with
some of the AGW's best such as Shawn Michaels and Alex Star. In fact, the
incarnation of Degeneration X that included him, Shawn Michaels and Quackman
were quite possibly the most hated stable ever. The fact that they could
get under the skins of the other wrestlers and then not take anything that
those wrestlers did to them seriously doubled up for some migrane headaches
for all who opposed them. However, of course there was more to Garvin than
just his flamboyant personality as he was quite a tough customer inside
the ring. His finisher, the Lithium was consistent in putting opponents
away and he has a vast knowledge of wrestling skill.....maybe due to a
possible relation with the rest of the Garvin family. His AGW career was
halted for almost a full year because of Speed Racer's stubbornness and
idiocy which basically forced all of DX to leave the fed on very bad terms.
However, a year later when ratings were starting to drop, Garvin and Michaels
were asked to return to the AGW, and thus once again, DX was reborn and
Garvin has stayed in the AGW ever since. Obviously, things would never
be the same without him.
Titles Held:
Garvin is a 1 time AGW World
Champion, a 2 time World Tag Champ(with Alex Star), a 2 time TV Champ,
5 time Cruiserweight Champ and a 3 time 3 Man Tag Champ (with DX)
