The Immortals (Duncan Macleod and
Methos)
Handler: Matt Benaka
Height/Weight: Macleod (6'5" 300 lbs.), Methos (6'7" 352 lbs.)
Finisher: Macleod (Head Taker - top-rope guillotine drop), Methos (Execution - flying elbowdrop)
Inducted: June 1998
Brief History:
Yet again, one of the great teams
of the AGW's history were also excellent singles competitors. The Immortals
joined the AGW a couple of months after it started and at the exact same
time as the men who would become their greatest and most hated opponents,
the Dark Church. In fact in the first era of the AGW, the 3 way feud with
the Immortals-Cripplers-Church put all other tag team feuds to shame. However,
the Immortals were not done then. As the AGW went on hiatus, both Immortals
went on to practice their singles match skills under the guidance of a
new manager, Hugh Fitzkairn. Thus, once the AGW returned from the hiatus,
they were ready to take on the best singles competition the AGW had to
offer. The Immortals were known for not wanting to finish second-place.
They trained to be winners, they expected to be winners, and in the end
they were two of the greatest winners. They were runnerups in the 1999
Winter Storm PPV tag tournament, and that just rounds out the list of their
accomplishments as they ended their career in 1999 after 2 years in the
AGW. And their overall accomplishments are matched by VERY few.
Violet Says:
"The Immortals probably rank as two of the most well-rounded and important wrestlers the AGW has ever had. It didn't matter if it was in tag competition or singles competition, if you were facing one of The Immortals, you knew you were in for the fight of your life. And as a fan, if you saw an Immortals match, you know you were going to get a great matchup. I know the AGW had their Top 200 list a couple years back, but I personally rank both these guys in my own personal top 10 all-time. The best thing is, as capable as they were in the ring, these guys were capable of cutting great promos and working great feuds. They could get the most out of any opponent...meaning they could carry a lesser star to a great feud, or they could work with a top talent and have a memorable feud. These guys keep popping back up over the years too, so hopefully we see them return to the AGW ring one day. But there is no doubting their legend status. These two are truly "Immortal".
Titles Held:
The Immortals as a team were 8
time World Tag Team Champions. They are 3 time U.S. Tag Champs
as well.
Duncan Macleod is a 1 time AGW World Champion, a 2 time IC Champ, a 2 time Anything Goes Champ and 2 time TV Champ.
Methos is a 1 time IC Champ, 1 time TV Champ, 1 time
Super Heavyweight Champ, and 3 time Anything Goes Champ.
Brolly and The Saiyans
(Son Goku / Vegeta)
Handler: Kevin Catarino
Height/Weight: Brolly (7'4" 450 lbs.), Son Goku (6'4" 230 lbs.), Vegeta (6'2" 211 lbs.)
Finisher: Brolly (Brolly Face Slam), Son Goku (Kamehameha), Vegeta (Final Flash)
Inducted: June 1998
Brief History:
The Saiyans and Brolly are quite
possibly some of the most popular AGW wrestlers in history....and some
of the most unique. Claiming to be from Planet Vegeta (named after Saiyan
member, Vegeta), they came to the AGW for the love of fighting and honing
their martial arts skills. Or in the case of Brolly, his pounding skills.
They were with the AGW from the very beginning, as Son Goku teamed with
Speed Racer as Fatal Fury in their days as rookies in the WHCW, thus the
connection was made. Son Goku and Vegeta are both probably some of the
most underrated wrestlers in the AGW, as they would constantly be counted
out and yet they constantly would gain success. Brolly is quite simply
THE most dominating force in the AGW EVER!!! His huge size and high-impact,
yet simple offense were too much for most of his opponents to handle, thus
he was able to earn 3 AGW World Title reigns. And he is a lot smarter than
he acts, as many opponents have discovered when trying to outthink the
big man. And just imagine what accomplishments these 3 would have made
had they not gone back to their home "planet" every summer for a vacation?
It can be truthfully stated that these 3 have probably sold the most merchandise
of any other AGW wrestlers, as their fun-loving nature made them appealing
to kids and adults alike. The AGW and wrestling in general certainly would
never have been the same without these 3.....after all Son Goku was the
one who thought up the name of the man who would become AGW Owner, Speed
Racer.
Violet Says:
Titles Held:
Brolly held the AGW World Title
3 times, The World Tag Titles once (as FISH) with Anaconda, The AGW Super
Heavyweight Title 5 times and the AGW 3 Man Tag Titles 5 times with
the Saiyans.
Son Goku has held the World Tag Titles 2 times with Vegeta, the IC Title 2 times, the Cruiserweight Title 5 times. the U.S. Tag Titles 2 times and the AGW 3 Man Tag Titles 5 times.
Vegeta has held the World Tag Titles
2 times with Son Goku, the U.S. Tag Titles 2 times and the Anything Goes
Title once.
Smooth Operator
Handler: Frank Sauer
Height/Weight: 6'5" 300 lbs.
Finisher: Smooth Operation
Inducted: June 1998
Brief History:
Smooth Operator is also one of
the most popular wrestlers in AGW history and his stable, GenX, is one
of the longest running. An amazing physical specimen, Smooth is a true
testament to the physique one can gain through hours of working out. And
his powerful wrestling style and submission wrestling knowledge led to
numerous victories for the Smooth one. His leadership skills have always
been top notch as many wrestlers throughout the years were eager to be
tutored under Smooth as a member of GenX. Smooth's skills in singles matches
also were equally as well-suited for tag team action as he and his best
friend, Anaconda, proved to be one of the great tag teams in AGW history.
Smooth has never seen eye to eye with AGW Owner, Speed Racer in or out
of the ring, however Smooth would continue to speak volumes just by his
in-ring accomplishments. In fact, he was always one of the first men to
step up to the plate anytime Speed created one of his "Corporations" that
were meant to wreak havoc on the AGW. Smooth wanted defend all that was
good, and thus he had to stop the evil owner from doing any more damage.
His controversial marriage to Morris sister, Katrina, also sparked a lot
of tension backstage between him, Speed and co-AGW Owner, Violet Morris,
the sister of Katrina, however all of that seems more or less smoothed
out (no pun intended) and Smooth continues to be an important part of both
the AGW past and present.
Violet Says:

3 time World Tag Champ with Anaconda, 2 time IC Champ, 1 time TV Champ,
