(Commercials)

(When we return from commercials, we once again cut backstage to the door leading to Jay Reno’s dressing room. This time we see Oblivion enter it and, this time, the camera follows. Jay Reno is tied to a wooden chair and gagged with duct tape. Blood trickles from his nose and above his right eye. His eyes are glazed over and it is obvious that The Messenger has beaten him badly but made sure he remained conscious. Oblivion walks over to the chair as the Messenger hovers in the background. Oblivion places his heel on the seat of the chair and rests his arms on his knee. He places some weight down on it, putting some very unpleasant pressure on a very sensitive part of Jay Reno’s anatomy. He wants to scream but the tape prevents him from doing so. Oblivion eases up and then produces a lighter from his pocket. He holds the flame dangerously close to Reno’s cheek.)

Oblivion: You remember this?

(Reno struggles to keep his face away from the flame.)

Oblivion: Yes I think you do.

(Oblivion shuts the lighter as his calm and somewhat amused demeanor suddenly becomes much more intense.)

Oblivion: Well that was as good as it was going to get for you. The time will come when you will beg. You will beg me for a trial by fire!

(Oblivion suddenly becomes calm again. He produces a razor blade from another pocket and, in the blink of an eye, has cut Reno right behind his right ear. He tosses the blade off to the side and places his hand to the side of Reno’s head. He draws back an index finger now red with blood. He puts a little of the blood beneath each of his eyes like some sort of war paint. He then produces another razor blade, this time cutting his own arm enough to draw a little blood. He tosses that blade aside too and, using his other index finger, takes some of the blood and draws a circle on Reno’s forehead. Oblivion then begins to leave, motioning for The Messenger to release Reno. We follow Oblivion out the door and, as he closes it, we hear the distinct sound of a wooden chair being shattered over a human back.)

Kevin Cole: We are back and I am speechless! I cannot believe what we just witnessed! I am simply speechless!

Nik Cain: Oblivion basically told Reno “no more mister nice guy” and when you’re talking about Oblivion, it’s not like his version of “nice” was all that pleasant to begin with.
