FCW Presents

The Lottery

(As these words fade, the standard FCTV intro plays. As it concludes, we cut to a live shot of the FCW Arena. The crowds here are infamous for their energy, but they seem even more excited than usual this week. Perhaps its all the title matches lined up for them, perhaps it’s the first signs of spring that have them in this mood, or perhaps they’re just trying extra hard to not focus on things outside this building. In any case, the cameras pan to catch as many of them as possible before cutting to our announce team.)

Kevin Cole: Full Contact TV is on the air! Tonight all three singles titles will be on the line! New champions Explosion and Righteous Bounty Hunter make their first defenses against Darian Blaze and Oblivion respectively.

(The bell rings. Dreams releases an exhausted Escar only to get blindsided by Derrick Moore. The 300-plus-pound Moore tackles Dreams to the mat and begins to reign down on him with a flurry of lefts and rights. Dream Warrior rushes into the ring but Escar struggles to his feet and drops Warrior with a double-leg take down. The two actually grapple on the mat in a more amateur wrestling fashion, neither man really getting a distinct advantage. Dreams has gotten back to his feet and is rocking Moore with forearms to the face. Warrior and Escar continue to roll around on the mat until both spill through the ropes, down to the concrete. As the two land on the outside, they revert to throwing punches. Inside the ring, Moore has regained control and hoists Bad Dreams up in a gorilla press. He walks over to here the other two are fighting and dumps him out on top of Warrior, though the two bodies collapse in a manner that takes Escar down too. All three slowly recover, only for Moore to do the unthinkable. He grabs the top rope and propels himself out to the floor with a slingshot plancha. It’s as ugly as you’d expect such a move to be coming from a super heavyweight with an amateur background and it leaves all four men in a heap but not for long. As they try to get to their feet, all four are already throwing fists and boots at each other. Finally security comes to intervene, only to get attacked by all four wrestlers, as they struggle to get back at each other. A few security guards get bloody noses or busted lips for their trouble and more than one will wake up with a shiner tomorrow. But, after a couple minutes, all four men have successfully been separated.)

Kevin Cole: Oh my!

Nik Cain: Man, I thought they were gonna need crowbars to pry those guys apart. The Nightmare Express simply cut the ring off and isolated Escar for the whole match. But, once the final bell had rung, Moore couldn’t restrain himself any more and a brawl erupted.

Kevin Cole: I don’t think the problems between these two teams are anywhere close to being settled!

Nik Cain: I certainly hope not. Bad blood makes for good television.

Kevin Cole: Speaking of bad blood, when we return, it will be Jeff Miller and The Paladin in a bed of thumbtacks match! Do not go away!

(Commercials)

Kevin Cole: We are back! There is a bed of thumbtacks at ringside and either Jeff Miller of the Paladin will be carried out on it!

Nik Cain: For those with short memories, Miller was the Paladin’s last opponent in FCW prior to his hiatus. It was the second round of FCW’s 2nd Anniversary Tournament and Miller was merciless in his assault and, ultimately, victorious. The Paladin, no doubt, seeks to even the score.

(The Messenger springs into action. He grabs Ned, spins him around, and buries a fist deep in his gut. He hooks Ned in a pump handle and looks up at Reno, who is still in the ring. He glances up at Reno again quickly then calmly walks back up the ramp. Reno doesn’t look scared to go after The Messenger, and yet he remains in the ring just the same. As the Messenger nears Oblivion, who has stayed put this whole time, we see that Oblivion has a microphone.)

Oblivion: Twice. Twice now you have been spared. Do not deny your destiny.

(With those simple, confusing words, Oblivion and The Messenger make their exit. Reno stands outside the ring, scratching the back of his head, with a somewhat bewildered look on his face. Finally he looks down at his fallen manager and, after a few moments of watching him roll on the ground in obvious pain, decides to help him up. Slowly, Reno helps Ned to the back.)

Nik Cain: I can’t even imagine what’s going through Reno’s head right now. It’s obvious that Oblivion’s taken an interest of some sort in his, and that’s the kind of attention I know I could live with out.

This contest is a no-DQ-no-countout-no-time-limit-match scheduled for one fall.

It is for the FCW Intercontinental Title.

Introducing first...

Fighting out of A Theater Near You...

Weighing in at 225 pounds...

"The eND Bringer" Oblivion

His opponent...

Led to the ring by Nandini and "Bullet" Bob Smith...

From Seaside Heights, NJ...

Weighing in at 252 pounds...

The FCW Intercontinental Champion...

Righteous Bounty Hunter

(Despite the announcement, RBH’s music does not play and he does not make his way to the ring. Oblivion sits patiently in the corner as the announcer says his name again. Still nothing. Finally music begins to play, but it’s not his. “Smoke on the Water” begins to play and a less-than-happy looking James Crawford makes his way out of the curtain.)

James Crawford: I suppose a lot of you fans are here tonight to see my nephew down there challenge Righteous Bounty Hunter for the Intercontinental Championship. And you know that I bend over backwards to bring you fans the best talent the wrestling world has ever seen. So it pains me to announce that this match will not be taking place, not tonight, not ever. You see, Righteous Bounty Hunter didn’t feel like showing up tonight. In fact, he didn’t exactly feel like showing up to a couple house-shows this past week either. So, effective immediately, Righteous Bounty Hunter and “Bullet” Bob Smith are no longer employed by this company...or welcome in this building.

(Shocked reactions from the crowd. A few fans cheer, but it’s mostly boos.)

Hey, I don’t like it any more than you do. Again, I pride myself on delivering the goods, so to speak. But, make no mistake about it, as talented as Hunter was, he quite obviously doesn’t give a damn about this company, or any of you. So you’re all just gonna have to get over it. He may be gone, but Full Contact Wrestling ain’t going anywhere.

(This garners some cheers from the crowd.)

But something else is going. I’ve been pondering this for a couple of months now and, well, when you get a bunch of lemons you make lemonade. I had long felt that the Intercontinental Championship has outlived its usefulness. Most veterans were looking past it, rightfully, towards the World Title. And many rookies were, unfortunately, looking past the Television Title towards it. And tag team wrestling was being ignored by a lot of competitors. The Television Title is FCW’s first ever title. It is a tough belt to win and a tough belt to retain and should be afforded the respect it deserves. And tag team wrestling has a long and proud tradition. I will do my part to see that tradition continue. So, as of tonight, the Intercontinental Title is being retired. It had a good, two-year run. And, in lieu of the title defense you all expected, look to the FCW-tron as you will instead see a highlight reel of the many talented men to carry that title with pride since it’s inception back in April of 2001.

(Crawford exits, leaving a still shocked crowd in his wake. But, as promised, the FCW-tron comes to life. First we see scenes of the tournament to crown the first ever IC Champ. Clips of the final bout between Explosion and Master Chuin follow that. Various clips of Explosion play. Then we see clips of Hazard and Samson. Then we see the battles Jeff Miller and Cedric Donahue had over the title followed by clips of Sambo’s long reign. And, finally, a number of clips of Darian Blaze, including plenty from the Seventh Avenue Street Fight against Samson. The screen goes black and we cut to commercials.)

(Commercials)

Kevin Cole: Well...we are back.

Nik Cain: And still reeling from the words of James Crawford.

Kevin Cole: If, for some reason you missed it, Righteous Bounty Hunter has been let go and the Intercontinental Title has been retired.

Nik Cain: I won’t mourn the loss of that title. Frankly, I see no reason to have more than a World Title and World Tag Titles. Fighting should be about more than trading various gold belts around. But, damn, Hunter is a loss. Who knows where his head is at, but he was a definite asset.

Kevin Cole: But the show must go on. And, unlike the Intercontinental Title, the World Title will be defended tonight!

Nik Cain: And what a first defense for Explosion. Blaze is a two-time former champ himself and is coming off a record breaking 105-day run as IC Champ. In fact, I guess that record will stand forever.

Kevin Cole: I suppose so. Darian Blaze, Explosion, World Title hanging in the balance! Let’s get to the ring!
