(The screen is black. Then, suddenly, a sentence appears on the screen that reads “This is the Calm”. We are then treated to some old black and white footage of a few wrestling matches from the 50’s and 60’s. The screen once again goes black and this time the sentence “This is the Storm” appears on the screen. “New Breed” by Fear Factory begins to play as we see clips of modern day wrestlers driving each other onto the mat and through tables with some of the most life threatening moves ever invented. We also see shots of superstars smashing chairs and other assorted foreign objects over each other’s heads. And we see many wrestlers looking up at the camera with their faces covered in blood. As the music intensifies, these images change more and more rapidly. It gets to the point where only the most distinctive looking wrestlers are even registered by the conscious mind. But the images continue moving faster and faster until, to the naked eye, they cease to be separate. They are now but one image, and that image’s name is violence. Just then, the screen explodes and, as these computer-generated flames dissipate, there remains only three letters, red hot and in flames. F. C. W.)

(We cut to a live shot. The cameras are rolling and the small arena in upstate New York, less than creatively dubbed the FCW Arena, is packed. They do not know what they will see here tonight. Some have heard rumors from supposedly reliable internet sources and others only know that the man who was once known to viewers only as “Creepy Old Fart” has started a brand new wrestling federation. One thing is for sure; there is a definite energy, and electricity if you will, in the air tonight. We cut to the announce table. The man sitting to the right of the screen dressed in khaki slacks and a red polo shirt with light brown hair that appears to be prematurely thinning is Kevin Cole. To his right, dressed in black jeans, a “Nice People Swallow” t-shirt, and leather blazer and dark sunglasses with a shaved head and dirty blonde goatee, sits Nik Cain. These two feel the energy coming from the crowd and are thrilled to be a part of it.)

Kevin Cole: Welcome everyone to the first ever episode of Full Contact TV! We’re going to be here for a full three hours this week before going to our regularly scheduled two hours next week. My name is Kevin Cole and the man to my right is Nik Cain.

Nik Cain: Its great to be here, even if its playing second fiddle to some college boy who ain’t even a wrestling fan.

Kevin Cole: I’ll have you know that, not only do I have a degree in broadcast journalism, but I announced many college wrestling meets while studying to get that degree and have spent the last few weeks studying the names of various professional wrestling maneuvers.

Nik Cain: Wow.

Kevin Cole: I also remember watching Hulk Hogan as a kid.

Nik Cain: Okay, now I’m impressed. But, enough about you, let’s talk about something that actually matters. We are witnessing the dream of one James Crawford coming to fruition here tonight. The man has been involved with professional wrestling, both on screen and behind the scenes, for a few years now. Before that and, to some extent, during that time, he was also quite successful in the business world. As a result he has the funds and both the wrestling and business contacts it would take to pull this kind of thing off. And I, for one, hope he does cuz the current state of wrestling is pretty sad.

Kevin Cole: Well, then let’s get right down to the ring for our first match up.

Nik Cain: That’s the most intelligent thing you’ve said so far tonight, chubs.

Kevin: Oh. . .my. . .goodness! Is that who I think it is? It is! Star of film and TV commercials, Robert Loggia! What is he doing here?

Nik Cain: I don’t know. Killing time waiting for that script for “Necessary Roughness 2” to arrive in the mail?

Kevin: That’s disgusting!

Nik Cain: And now we see why. Schultz seems to have left a stain on the mat, and we ain’t talking blood here. The unlucky ring crew is coming out to clean and sanitize the ring before we can continue with the action. I guess my job ain’t so bad after all.

Kevin Cole: I have just received word that James Crawford, owner and president of Full Contact Wrestling, is going to take this opportunity to address the crowd and make a couple of announcements.

(“Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple plays over the PA. Three men come through the curtain and walk a few feet before stopping in the aisle. The first is none other than FCW owner/president James Crawford. He is dressed in a nice gray suit. His thinning grayish white hair is slicked back and tied in a small ponytail. His beard is neatly trimmed. Behind him stand two gigantic men, known only as Masked Fat Guy #2 and Masked Fat Guy #3. Both are wearing tuxedos and the former has a yellow mask with blue trim on, while the latter has a blue mask with yellow trim. Crawford has a microphone. The music is cut and he addresses the crowd, his crowd.)

James Crawford: You know, I’ve been a fan of this sport, of this business, for about as long as I can remember. Throughout my childhood on into my adulthood, I watched countless wrestling programs and attended countless wrestling events. Eventually, I made a bold move and dropped a very successful career to become a part of this business. I have sacrificed a lot for professional wrestling. I sacrificed my job, my marriage, and countless hours of my time, but it was worth it, because I love professional wrestling. But, recently, I have been very upset. I look around and I see terrible promotion after terrible promotion putting out garbage product. It insults you, the fans, and it definitely insults me and all my hard work and dedication. Well, it was time to do something about it. And that something is Full Contact Wrestling. (huge pop) For those who are familiar with my old “gimmick”, if you want to call it that, let me put it this way. There is a time and a place for mediocrity. That place is not here, and that time is not now.

I’m sure many of you have heard rumors of what would occur in this building on this very special night. You’ve heard names thrown around like Most Holy and Tom Tennant. (another huge pop). Well, I can confirm those rumors. Most Holy is a part of FCW! Tom Tennant is a part of FCW! (more cheers from the crowd). And I’ll let a couple more cats out of the bag before I turn the show back over to the real stars, the athletes. Settle in for a long night of action because we are going to have one hell of a double main event for you. The first match will pit The Blonde Bastard himself, Mark Payne against the media whore everyone loves to hate, Shawn Michaels. And, since both men like to invent rules just so they have more to break, this match will be no disqualification. And both men get to pull double duty, because the other main event will be a battle royal involving every man who is competing here tonight. But, this won’t be just any old battle royal. The last two men standing will meet in the main event next week and the winner of that match will be the first man to ever wear FCW gold. That’s right, the last two men standing in that ring tonight will vie for the FCW Television Title right here, next week. Oh and, sorry Comedy, this won’t be an over the top rope battle royal. I’ve never really seen the skill in tossing a man outside. No, this will be a pinfall and submission only battle royal. It will truly be a test of our wrestlers’ skill and endurance. Enjoy the show everyone.

(“Smoke on the Water” once again plays and Crawford and his two bodyguards head to the backstage area.)

Kevin Cole: Whoa! Huge news from the president. We’ve got to take a commercial break, but don’t go anywhere.

(Commercials)

Kevin Cole: We are back. . .

Nik Cain: And the ring is now urine free.

Kevin Cole: So let’s get back to the action. It says here that this next match will be an I Quit Match. This should be more up my alley.

Nik Cain: I’m guessing you’re not familiar with who Quackman is.

Next up, we have the match I’ve been waiting all night for as Comedy’s tag team partner, Tragedy, takes on “The Survivor” Tom Tennant in a falls count anywhere match. Tennant first came to prominence in hardcore, a.k.a. garbage, matches. But he worked hard to become a sound technician and has recently added a lot of high flying moves to his arsenal. He is arguably the most well rounded wrestler in the FCW. And, Tragedy is simply one of the greatest high flyers in the entire world.

Kevin Cole: Falls count anywhere? I hope they don’t come too close to the announce table.
